106 authors from 17 countries, including Australia and the United States, partecipated in the award exhibition, submitting 217 entries.
The jury was composed of the American calligrapher Thomas Ingmire, the professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of Verona and expert in the Visual Arts Manfredo Massironi and the Art Critic Tiziano Santi.
They selected 78 works by 50 authors from 12 different countries.
This award exhibition, which took place in Cittadella Padova, was the first of its kind in Italy.
The award attracted a wide variety of different works, all of the highest quality. The exhibition combined tradition with innovation, establishing itself firmly as an important event in the panoramic world of calligraphy and letter arts.
The Belle Lettere book has been created to document, analyse and share this important heritage with the rest of the world.
